Youth Speed, Agility, and Core Classes

2017-2018 Youth Speed, Agility & Core Classes Details:

The classes will be held from 5:30-6:30 PM on Tuesday and Thursday evenings scheduled throughout the school year (schedule on website linked below). Middle School athletes must attend the intro to weight training class from 5:00-5:30 PM prior to the Speed, Agility & Core class at 5:30-6:30 PM. There will be no additional fee for this intro to weight training class. We will meet in the weight room on the first night, then will proceed into the the MS Hallway, or out onto the Football Field depending on availability. The weights portion of training will entail strength/mobility/stability development to help enhance movement capabilities and durability. This will be a scaleable program with progressions and regressions as needed. The speed, Agility & Core classes will entail work on speed (acceleration/deceleration), Power development (jumping/landing), Coordination, Reaction time & Multidirectional Speed (how to change direction/cut). Mechanics of body positions/angles and how to create force and absorb force, will be taught in a progression to further enhance learning of movement and how to move safely, along with increased performance. Kids will be pre & post tested to monitor improvement and will receive a testing result sheet of their own to see their improvements.
